On November 26, 1883, Influential abolitionist and civil rights activist Sojourner Truth died.
Sojourner Truth was born in the 1797’s. After escaping slavery in 1826, Truth went on to help other free and enslaved African American to gain civil rights and freedom. She worked with civil rights leaders like Frederick Douglas and William Lloyd Garrison.
