On September 29, 1975, WGPR-TV, the first black owned TV station, broadcasted for the first time. 

WGPR-TV, was a Detroit based tv-station created by William v. Banks. Williams V. Banks was an American businessman and attorney. WGPR-TV, was the first black owned and operated TV station. In 1975, WGPR-TV broadcasted for the first time.
