The TLC Group purchases Beatrice Foods for $985M

On August 9, 1987, the TLC Group owned by Reginald Lewis purchased Beatrice Foods, a Chicago based international food company, for $985 million.

The TLC group was the first black owned business to earn $1 billion in sales.
