On July 25, 1941 Emmett Till was born in Chicago, Illinois.
14-year old Emmett Till was brutally beaten and murdered in 1995 after allegedly whistling at Carolyn Bryant, a white woman. Bryant recanted her story in 2017 according to the book “The Blood of Emmett Till” by Tim Tyson.
The recent discovery of an unserved arrest warrant for Bryant, led to protests outside her home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Despite the new discovery, Mississippi officials do not plan on prosecuting Bryant.
