On August 1, 1925, the Negro Bar Association was founded.
The Negro Bar Association, was later named the National Bar Association. It was created to welcome lawyers who were excluded from predominantly white nationally incorporated law associations.
Today, the National Bar Association is the largest black law association in the U.S. Today the NBA has nearly 20,000 members.
