Deron Gadsden | Founder and HBCU Alum

Meet Deron Gadsden

Deron Gadsden is a North Charleston native and HBCU alum with a passion for STEM and community engagement. He is a graduate of LSU and North Carolina A&T State University. Having attended an HBCU, Deron felt he had a duty to advocate for people of color within his industry. He became an executive board member for the Louisiana chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) to support understanding of finance and insurance in the African American Community as well as to promote networking for African American professionals within the industry.

Shortly after graduating with his MBA from LSU, he moved to Houston, TX, to begin a career in project management and consulting.  Two years into his career at alliantgroup (a Houston-based consulting firm), Deron had the opportunity to become one of the founding members of The alliantgroup Black Collaborative (The ABC).  With the support of his peers, Deron found his passion for developing STEM advocacy programs and giving back to the community through donations, scholarships, and volunteer opportunities.  Furthering his passion, Deron joined the Executive Board of the Houston Professionals Chapter of NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) where he worked to bridge the gap between the local college students and the professional STEM community.  This journey led him to found BE Impactful, an organization as near and dear to his heart as the people it serves.

Deron Gadsden and the BE Impactful Foundation were nominated for the first quarter 2024 Black Business Scholarship.
