On December 25, 1971, Rev. Jesse Jackson founded Operation PUSH (People United to Save Humanity) in 1971.
Since the 1970’s, PUSH has led and participated in numerous social justice movements and initiatives.
It was later renamed the Rainbow PUSH Coalition after a merge between the Rainbow Coalition and Operation PUSH.
Today, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition still plays an active role in the social justice movement.
