Max Robinson, the first Black network news anchor, died in 1988

On December 20, 1988, Max Robinson tragically passed away.

Max Robinson was a pioneering journalist. He was the first Black network news anchor. He was also a co-founder of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Robinson gained higher education from Oberlin College and Virginia Union University before starting a career in journalism.
