On October 9, 1968, Deon Hemmings was born in St. Ann, Jamaica.
Deon Hemmings is known for being the first Jamaican woman to win an Olympic gold medal. Throughout her Olympic career, Hemmings dominated the 400m hurdles, her specialty.
Today, Deon Hemmings uses her skills and experience to train the next generation of track and field athletes.
