The National Negro Bowling Association is founded

On August 20, 1939, the National Negro Bowling Association was founded in Detroit, Michigan.

The National Negro Bowling Association was created to welcome black people who were excluded from other associations. In 1944,  it became the National Bowling Association.

Today, the National Bowling Association offers youth and adult memberships, in addition to hosting national, regional and local tournaments across the country.
