On March 22, 1930, Willie Thrower was born.
Willie Thrower was the first black quarterback in the NFL. He made history in 1953 when he stepped on the field for the Chicago Bears. Despite his short tenure in the NFL, Thrower broke the color barrier.
Willie Thrower died in 2002 at the age of 71.
