The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded

On January 10, 1957, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded. 

The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was created to advocate for civil rights.  The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was founded by Martin Luther King Jr., Bayard Rustin and other civil rights leaders.
