On December 16, 1933, historian and writer Charles L. Blockson was born in Pennsylvania.
Charles Blockson is an influential historian, who has worked to preserve African history in the U.S. and abroad. He is acknowledged as a leading expert on the Underground Railroad. Over the years, Blockson has played a huge role in cultivating and acknowledging Pennsylvania’s African American history.
