On November 24, 1960, Wilt Chamberlain set the NBA rebound record. 

Wilt Chamberlain was a former professional basketball player. Chamberlain broke NBA records and electrified the NBA throughout his career. He played for the Philadelphia Warrior, Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Lakers during his career, winning two NBA championships.

In 1960, Wilt Chamberlain grabbed 55 rebounds to set the NBA rebound record. It was the most rebounds collected during a single game. His most notable achievement came in March of 1962 when he scored 100 points against the New York Knicks. This was the most points scored by a player in a single game. 

After dominating the NBA for years, Chamberlain retired from professional basketball in 1973. In 1978, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. 

He died in 1999.
